Sinusitis is inflammation of the sinuses that occurs with an infection from a virus, bacteria, or fungus. Normally, sinuses are filled with air, but when sinuses become blocked and filled with fluid, germs (bacteria, viruses, and fungi) can grow and cause an infection.
I used to get sinus infections, upper respiratory infections, had colds, etc….
Don’t be fooled and think that it’s from allergies. It’s probably really from poor food, drink, stress and lifestyle choices. When I removed dairy, grains and all the processed foods that I used to eat, I was able to breathe again.
Gargle 2-5 times daily:
Many have found it effective to place one drop of Thieves or (Tea Tree) Melaleuca Alternafolia at the very back of the tongue and hold it in the mouth, mixing with the saliva for several minutes then swallowing (I like to use Exodus II). You can also use the Thieves Mouthwash with a little extra Thieves in it or Exodus II and gargle with that. There’s also the Theves Spray and I have added a couple drops of Oregano to the Theves Spray to give it more strength. Remember to mix it thoroughly.
I also gargle with NingXia Red sometimes.

Everyone’s body is different, so it’s great to have several things to try.
This is a blend used for diffusion or put a couple drops on tissue or hankie & inhale deeply, as needed.
Recipe: Nasal Irrigation
Here is a great recipe that Dr. Penoel used on his patients.
Dr. Pemoel told about this little girl that had sinus problems so bad that the parents doctor of this little girl wanted to do surgery. They heard about Dr. Penoel and this is what he used. She did not have to have surgery. Rosemary and tea tree oils can be used in a saline solution for a very effective nasal irrigation.
10 drops Rosemary
6 drops Melaleuca ericifolia
8 tbls very fine salt (salt flower)
The essential oils are mixed thoroughly in the fine salt and kept in a container. For each nasal irrigation session, 1 teaspoon of this salt mixture is dissolved into 1 1/2 cups distilled water. This oils/salt/water solution is then placed in the tank of an oral irrigator to irrigate the nasal cavities, which is done while bending over a sink.
This application has brought surprisingly positive results in treating latent sinusitis and other nasal congestion problems. I would also try it with Eucalyptus Blue, which is very powerful for the sinuses.
Essential oil such as Eucalyptus Radiata and Ravensara strengthens the respiratory system, opens the pulmonary tract, and fights respiratory infection.
Diffuse and Inhale
20 drops Rosemary (mucolytic)
20 drops Eucalyptus Radiata (anti-inflammatory & expectorant)
20 drops Peppermint (decongestant & stimulant)
Also diffuse and sit in front of the diffuser, or take a half cup of hot water with 4-5 drops of oil, and cover head with towel. Inhale the moisture and oil. Make sure the water is hot enough not to burn your finger before you put the oil in. That way it ensures that it is not too hot for the oil, which might fracture the molecule.
Another thing to do to help with the nasal problem is to use Eucalyptus Blue or the new Breathe Again roll-on and apply over the nasal points on the face and cover with a hot wash cloth doing a hot compress. Also apply oils to the feet reflex of the sinuses and put feet in a hot foot bath. Topical Chest Rub Used for respiratory problems.
Rub a few drops on chest, neck, when needed- to help break up congestion.
5 drops Rosemary (mucolytic & anti-inflammatory)
5 drops Eucalyptus Globulus (expectorant & anti-inflammatory)
3 drops Frankincense (antiseptic)
3 drops Thyme (antiseptic & immune booster)
Add these oils to 2 oz. of a base of sweet almond oil (moisturizer) AND 1/2 oz. Vitamin E as a stabilizer.
Immunity Booster Blend
This blend strengthens your immune system to help keep you from catching
the bug. Use once a day as a preventative during cold/flu season.
6 drops Eucalyptus Globulus(anti-viral, microbial, bacterial)
6 drops Lemon (keeps lymphatic system moving)
6 drops Lavender (mild sedative)
6 drops Frankincense (antiseptic)
Add these oils to 1/2 oz. of Vitamin E and 2 oz. of Apricot kernel oil.
